Lifting the veil to witness the pain of reality. Fantasy may serve as a rejection to the heavy entity which lives inside. It is the physical manifestation of visions and daydreams. Let go of the old world and usher in the new. Breathe in my breath. Make your vows sweetly and place him down gently. If I can’t have you now, I will laugh down by the water. His face is my face, bold upon his grave hill. You are the mirror which reflects my affection. I will hold you like a mother holds his child; as it was in another life.  Born through patience and understanding, shamed by egoic reaction. If you resist being present, you cannot access wisdom. You may not enter our halls. I hope I do not retreat back inside of myself.

Veronika McGinnis is a multi-disciplinary artist from Amiskwacîwâskahikan - Edmonton, Alberta. She received her Fine Arts Diploma from Grant MacEwan in 2017, and continued her studies at the University of Alberta where she received her Bachelor of Fine Arts in 2019.

Conceptually, her work explores conscious and unconscious worlds, addressing themes of mysticism, sexuality and repression of the psyche. She uses her body as a conduit to physically manifest experience’s during trance and meditation. Altered states of consciousness provide an honest state of being for McGinnis, which allow room for sensitivity and vulnerability. It is these honest moments which help guide her narrative and connect her with the collective unconscious.

Coded Distance is an exploration focused on improvisation using expressive tools from Live Coding practices. The performance takes place during a multi-stream session where all three artists share their spaces and computer screens. The artists, according to certain shared codes and instructions, explore ways to communicate and generate an environment for being together by sound, image and body codes.

He has been living and working in Barcelona for eight years, where he completed his studies in musical composition and new technologies, Interactive Music Systems Design and Sound Art. Marc Sans Coëffard

Marc Sans Coëffard focuses the work on the use of the body and its relationship with different scenic contexts. He uses dramaturgy techniques to link seemingly unrelated disciplines and thus bring diverse audiences together. He is especially interested in the deformation of everyday movement and intuitive movement to get away from academic dance canons. Lover of pop, performance and neuroscience.

Citlali Hernández

Multidisciplinary artist and Designer

Born in Mexico City in 1986, Citlali Hernández develops her work around arts and design, crossing it by the ephemeral characteristics of performance, free technologies, and the meaning of the body.  She has co-founded the Mexican multimedia performance collective #FFFF, as well as the electronic art and living arts company n_n in Barcelona.  She is currently a professor of design and digital manufacturing at LCI Barcelona, and is studying for a PhD at BAU, Centre Universitari de Disseny de Barcelona.

On 14th August from 6-8pm, Eszter Rosta will do a durational, physically mediated public performance for Dyscorpia 2.1. Referencing Marina Abramović’s ‘The Artist is Present’ (2010) and Amelia Jones (2011), Eszter Rosta aims to reframe ontologies of performance by questioning what it means to perform with and through mediated presence while simultaneously being physically present with other bodies.
